rad, France 2nd. Panzer Divison (Guderian) 1940
The armoured scoutcar Sd.Kfz. 231 and 232
(radio array version) were produced in the 1930's for the German Army. The
Sd.Kfz. 232 6-rad featured was based on a three-axis truck chassis with
double rear wheels, light armour and a 2cm. cannon.
Only a limited number were produced, yet the experienced gained with these
vehicles made them a valuable stepstone towards the developmant of later
models.The Sd.Kfz. 231 and 232 were used untill the early stages of WWII,
during the Poland campaign and the Blitzkrieg towards The Netherlands, Belgium
and France.
It was replaced by more modern and efficient cars, like the Sd.Kfz. 231 /232 8-rad and the famous Sd.Kfz. 251 halftracks.
